A personal approach to buying established businesses

Thinking About Selling Your Business?

My name is Gary Pesticcio. I'm an individual buyer with my own funding — not a broker or part of a corporate chain. I'm looking to speak directly with business owners who may be considering a sale.

You've probably arrived here because you've received a letter from me.

Thank you for taking the time to read it. I understand that selling a business you've spent years building is a big decision. It's not always just about the money. Your employees, customers, reputation and the future of the business matter too. My aim is to make the process as straightforward, friendly and confidential as possible.

Why Might You Be Thinking About Selling?

Every business owner has their own reasons for considering a sale.

You're Thinking About Retirement

You've worked hard building your business and now feel it's time to enjoy the next chapter of your life. I want to preserve what you've created — the business name, its reputation and its employees. If you'd like to remain involved during the transition, we can discuss a consultancy arrangement.

You're Ready for a Change

Perhaps you're looking for a new challenge, a different lifestyle, or simply feel that running the business has become more stressful than enjoyable. I can offer a straightforward transition, and if you'd like to continue working in the business on a part-time basis, that's something we can discuss.

You Don't Want to Sell to a Large Corporate

I'm not looking to strip businesses apart, replace established teams or remove their individual identities. My preference is to retain existing employees, develop people from within and protect the reputation you've worked so hard to establish.

What Sort of Business Am I Looking For?

I'm open to different sectors and opportunities, but there are a few things that matter to me.

An Established Business

Ideally, the business should be capable of operating without the owner being involved in every aspect of its day-to-day activities. If you're currently managing everything yourself, that doesn't necessarily rule it out.

A Good Team of People

Employees are often the most valuable part of a business. My intention is to retain the existing team and, wherever possible, promote from within rather than introduce outside management.

A Business With Potential

I'm not particularly concerned if profitability has fallen in recent years. I enjoy a challenge and I'm happy to consider businesses that may benefit from fresh ideas, investment or a different approach.

Property Ownership or Leasing

If you own the premises, I'm happy to discuss either purchasing the property or leasing it from you. A lease could provide you with an ongoing income after you've sold the business.

What Can You Expect From Me?

100% Confidentiality

Any initial discussion will remain strictly confidential. I won't approach your staff, customers or suppliers, or visit your premises without your prior agreement.

A Straightforward Decision

I don't believe in wasting people's time. Once I've understood the basics of your business, I can normally tell you within days whether it's something I'd like to explore further.

A Personal Approach

You'll deal directly with me — not a broker or a corporate acquisitions department.

A Sensible Handover

I'd like you to be willing to help during a mutually agreed transition period, so that customers, suppliers and employees experience as little disruption as possible.

A Simple Process

I want to avoid unnecessary complications, lengthy negotiations and excessive professional fees wherever possible.

A Little About Me

I've spent over 35 years building and operating businesses in the UK, and having recently sold a business, I'm now looking for my next opportunity. I understand what it means to build something from the ground up, employ people, deal with the daily challenges of running a business and eventually consider moving on. I'm financially independent and able to make decisions personally. Most importantly, I want buying and selling a business to be a positive experience for everyone involved.

When Are You Looking to Sell?

Ideally, I'm interested in business owners considering a sale within the next 3 to 12 months. However, if you're thinking about selling further into the future, I'd still be delighted to hear from you. Sometimes the best arrangements begin with a conversation long before anyone is ready to make a decision. There is absolutely no obligation to proceed.

Shall We Have a Chat?

If you've received my letter and are even slightly curious about what selling your business might look like, I'd welcome a conversation. You don't need to have made a decision to sell, and you don't need to prepare detailed accounts or paperwork just to get in touch.

No pressure. No obligation. Just a friendly conversation about the possibilities.
